How many people bike?

As an associate at Nelson\Nygaard from 2012-2015, I honed my spatial analyst skills. I focused on developing new models for evaluating cycling demand as new bicycle networks rolled out in Rochester, NY, Chico, CA and Washington, DC. I progressed to creating multi-phase analyses, strengthening the team’s proposed connections in each city’s bicycle network. My work helped Nelson\Nygaard’s clients prioritize and refine their city’s bicycle infrastructure.

Better bike data analysis for more cycling and smarter investments.

I created unique spatial planning tools for the Nelson\Nygaard teams in NYC, SF and DC. Building upon their expertise in bicycle network design to demonstrate mode share shifts with new bicycle infrastructure. I trained staff across the country to use these tools with interactive workshops, technical guidebooks, and webinars.

4x more people cycling in Chico.

In Chico, California, the geospatial models I developed predicted daily cycling rates could could grow from 4% to 17% with a complete citywide bike network of protected arterials and trails.

DC’s $300 million bike network.

I calculated the ridership demand of over 340 miles of bicycle infrastructure for DC’s long-range transportation plan. Helping DC prioritize capital improvements worth $290 million dollars over the next fifteen years.
